Guess the Americans Competition

Welcome to the second of three exciting new contests here this week on Infomaniac!

Today is our “GUESS THE AMERICANS” Competition.

Note: RESIDENTS OF THE UK AND IRELAND ONLY MAY ENTER THIS CONTEST

There will contests for everyone else (except Canadians) later this week but today only residents of the UK and Ireland may enter the competition.

THE RULES:

1. Guess the names of the 10 people pictured below. The “personalities” in the photos are all from the United States of America.

2. Email your answers to us. Our email address is in our Blogger Profile.
The comments are closed as we want to avoid people guessing out loud in the comments section and giving away the answers.

3. Sit back and wait until Thursday, July 30th when the photos will be identified and a winner will be chosen.

Are you ready? Let’s get started.

Guess as many as you can and email your answers to us on Tuesday or Wednesday.

The people featured here are all alive (at the time of this posting, anyway) and are all popular personalities in the USA.

We want to see how many of these people you UK and Irish folk recognize. Can you do better than your American cousins did in the Guess the Brits Competition?

Reminder: UK RESIDENTS AND IRISH ONLY MAY ENTER TODAY’S CONTEST

We are limiting those who enter the contest to UK residents and Irish only because most of our readers are either from the USA or the UK. We’d like to see how they do when pitted against each other.

How much does one country really know about the other?

Wondering why we chose the photos we did for this contest? Many personalities/celebrities in the United States receive lots of press outside the U.S. They’re recognizable to anyone who switches on the telly or reads the papers or has access to the Internet. So we did a little digging to find personalities who are household names (for the most part) in the U.S. but may not be as instantly recognizable outside that country’s borders.

One more thing: Please do not enlist the help of your American cousins for the answers. We were disappointed to find that a handful of folk in the last contest asked their UK and Irish friends to help them correctly identify the photos. This is not fair play and you’re cheating your fellow bloggers. Please play fairly. Mistress MJ has spoken.

Good luck!

UPDATE: This competition is now closed. A new post with the winner’s name and correct answers will appear here on Thursday.
